Why The Government Sent An Alert To Your Phone

Why The Government Sent An Alert To Your Phone   The US federal government recently sent an alert to every mobile phone in the country,  sparking a flurry of questions, criticism, and even conspiracy theories. So why did the government send out this alert? Well, it was part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's  Integrated Public Alert and Warning System,  which was founded in 2006 after criticism over the  government's slow response to Hurricane Katrina. It established a modernized system to notify  citizens of emergencies as soon as possible, by sending text alerts to mobile phones and even audio alerts to televisions and radios. It's typically used in localized areas to notify people of threats like tornadoes or hurricanes, but it could also be used nationally in case of  more catastrophic threats like nuclear attacks. But in order to ensure such a system is working  properly, it has to be tested, which is why federal law mandates a n...

iPhone 15: Everything New

iPhone 15: Everything New   Apple recently revealed their new iPhone 15 lineup, which features some significant changes. So let's cover all of them, starting with the 15 and 15 Plus. These two models have the same screen sizes as last year at 6.1 and 6.7 inches, but they're offered in new colors. Pink, yellow, green, blue, and black. But these colors aren't just painted on. Apple actually infused the glass  with super-fine metallic ions with a unique formula for each color, then etched the surface for a matte finish. And its design makes the device more comfortable to hold thanks to the  rounded-off contoured edges. The notch from last year has been replaced by the dynamic island, and the display can now reach 1,000 units of sustained brightness and 2,000 nits for outdoor  use, which is twice as bright as iPhone 14. Its camera system has been upgraded with the 48 megapixel lens from the 14 Pro, allowing you to take more detailed photos with 3x optical zoom, rather ...

Why Apple Wants Your Old iPhone

Why Apple Wants Your Old iPhone   Apple has heavily promoted their trade-in program in recent years. Encouraging users to give up their old iPhone in exchange for a discount on a new model.Over a third of Apple Store customers now utilize this program. But it's left many people wondering why Apple even wants our old iPhones. Which is what I'll explain right now. It's no coincidence that Apple began offering discounts with trade-ins in 2013, when they experienced their first quarterly profit decline in a decade. And started aggressively promoting the trade-in program in 2017, when they released  the $1,000 iPhone X. It solved two problems the company faced. Slowing iPhone sales due to market  saturation, and users waiting longer to upgrade due to the iPhone's price rising year after year. Trade-ins bring down the device's price and allow more users to upgrade sooner. But what does Apple  do with all those old iPhones? Well, if it's in good working condition,...
